Our Story

How Calmyear came to be

Calmyear started in Bangkok in 2018 when a small group of adult educators noticed a consistent gap: people in their fifties and sixties had real questions about pension systems, social security entitlements, and record-keeping obligations — but found most available material either too technical or tied to someone trying to sell them something.

The founders set out to create an independent information space. Not a financial firm, not a government office — simply a place where adults could ask first questions, get pointed to reliable sources, and find others at the same stage of life.

Based at 102 Lat Phrao Road in Bangkok's Chom Phon district, Calmyear now serves participants across Thailand through in-person sessions, a year-round membership, and quarterly community gatherings.

All information is cross-checked against official Thai government sources before inclusion in our materials.

Regular Updates

Membership materials are reviewed and updated seasonally to reflect any changes in relevant regulations or official guidance.

Privacy Protection

Participant data is held securely and never shared with commercial third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

No Advice Boundary

Our team is trained to maintain a clear distinction between general information and personal financial or legal advice.

Accessibility

Sessions and materials are designed for adults with no specialist background. Plain language, large print options, and remote attendance are all available.

Community Focus

Calmyear operates as an education resource, not a sales channel. Our measure of success is whether participants leave better informed.

Later-life planning information in Bangkok

Thailand's pension and social security landscape has several distinct components — the Social Security Fund (SSF), the Government Pension Fund (GPF) for public sector employees, and the National Savings Fund (NSF). Each has different contribution rules, withdrawal conditions, and documentation requirements. For most people, understanding which system applies to them is the very first step.

Calmyear's First Questions Session is designed around exactly this starting point: helping participants name the questions that matter for their own situation, and identifying the official bodies and resources where accurate answers can be found.

The Year-Round Information Membership builds on this foundation with a library of explainers covering topics such as contribution records, voluntary top-up options, and the documentation typically needed when approaching retirement age. Seasonal reminders help members stay ahead of important dates and record-keeping tasks.

The Community Seasons Programme creates space for people to learn together across the course of a year — a format that many participants find more engaging and less isolating than working through these topics alone.
